Koshiro Kudo will focus on expanding Health Care and Sustainability operations for Asahi Kasei.
Asahi Kasei has announced that it has appointed Koshiro Kudo as the new president
of the company, starting from April 2022. Kudo will also cover the role of representative director, while the current president Hideki Kobori will become the new chairman of Asahi Kasei.
Born in Nobeka (Japan), Kudo graduated from the Keio University in Tokyo in 1982 and started his career in Asahi Kasei the following month. He has held several corporate positions since then, such as head of the ROICA™ business unit, president of the Fibers & Textiles Strategic Business Unit and president of the Performance Products SBU. Furthermore, Kudo was also involved in the establishment of a new department for mobility materials, launched in April 2020.
With almost forty years of management experience in Asahi Kasei, Kudo will lead the company into a new century
of activities. His focus will be on strengthening the operations in the medical business unit with solutions that can tie together offerings in the chain of prevention, diagnosis, treatment and aftercare.
In addition, the company – that will celebrate its 100th anniversary in May 2022 – aims to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by at least 30% until 2030 and reach carbon neutrality by 2050. For this purpose, the new president will also expand the Sustainability Strategy Planning Department and the Green Solution Project.
