PPG has placed itself among the top 8% of all companies evaluated by EcoVadis.
PPG has recently announced that it has maintained the Gold Rating in corporate social responsibility from EcoVadis, a business sustainability ratings platform. The company has placed itself among the top 8% of the companies evaluated by EcoVadis.
PPG, which had announced its commitment to reduce emissions through science-based targets, has in fact received high scores for its environmental, ethics and sustainable procurement practices.
“At PPG, we take great pride in the sustainability of our operations as well as the sustainability of our strategic supplier base. We are honored that EcoVadis recognizes our efforts, and we look forward to sharing continued progress against our near-term and longer-term sustainability goals,” has stated Diane Kappas, the vice-president for Global Sustainability at PPG.
The experts of EcoVadis have evaluated the performances of the company according to over twenty factors grouped in four categories (environment, labour and human rights, ethics and sustainable procurement). Each candidate has been assessed based on its size, location and industry.
The rating methodology is based on international sustainability standards and initiatives, such as the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) Standards, the United Nations Global Compact and the ISO 26000 standard.
