PPG announces its second year of partnership with ScienceFest in Czech Republic, offering interactive workshops and hands-on activities to inspire youth interest in STEM.
The international paints and coatings supplier PPG
has announced its second year of partnership with ScienceFest, the largest open-air science event in Czechia, which recently took place in Prague. During the event, the company provided hands-on workshops and quizzes as part of its commitment to inspire young people with an interest in science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM).
“At PPG, we are committed to protecting and beautifying the world - that's why this year we are entering our second year of partnership with ScienceFest to help educate the next generation of leaders in the STEM fields. PPG is staffed by passionate chemists and engineers who were drawn to these fields when they were young, and I firmly believe that we will spark the curiosity of even the youngest visitors at ScienceFest,” has commented Jan Sipan, sales director of PPG Architectural Coatings in Czechia.
PPG, as lead partner for the second year, sought to inspire young minds through interactive experiments and hands-on activities. Indeed, visitors had the opportunity to develop 'blue' photos using a cyanotype process and to create coloured slimes - all experiments created in cooperation with Czech company CF Plus Chemicals and its 'Chemistry and Light' kit. In addition to the experiments, the children had the chance to win PPG-branded prizes through quizzes on colour knowledge.
“Thanks to PPG’s invaluable partnership, we are able to offer a dynamic and engaging program that captivates visitors of all ages, from young children to adults. PPG’s workshop invited the curious to delve into the fascinating world of paint mixing, showcasing its myriad applications and purposes. We deeply appreciate PPG’s collaboration and support,” has stated Irena Krumlova, ScienceFest manager.
