The new digital era of ipcm®.
As early as 2017, the main digital platforms and leading web marketing experts had forecast a substantial increase in the importance of videos in digital communication in the years to come.
Captivating pictures and texts studied down to a T are no longer enough: anyone who wants to improve their communication strategies, thus responding to the new needs of digital users, must necessarily create visual content - videos and infographics that favour a straightforward communication with the audience.
On closer inspection, this should not come as a surprise: YouTube is the second most used search engine and the second most visited website in the world, after Google.
The ipcm® team has always aimed at meeting the needs of its audience as much as possible and for this reason we have now officially opened a YouTube channel. The new channel not only rolls out a new multimedia era for the MyIpcm community, but it also provides our partners with a new, accurate and functional communication mean that can be perfectly integrated with the other ipcm® tools.
To launch the channel, we uploaded the corporate video previewed during our 10-year anniversary event. The video is available in 5 languages - English, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese and German - and is accompanied by other specific videos for the Events division of EOS - which offers exclusive services for the creation of conferences, workshops and events - and for ipcm® Academy, the division dedicated to training courses for technicians in the finishing and surface protection sector.
In September we also published the ipcm® issue dedicated to the treatment of aluminium for architecture and industrial design. What we have witnessed during the preparation of this number is that in the contemporary development scenario, dominated by digitisation and its related aspects (automation, robotics, plant modularity, and so on) also in the surface finishing industry, companies should invest in four concepts to create an added value: service, customer loyalisation, ethics, and sustainability. All these concepts can be found in the published articles, including the second series of the 5 on 5 Interview on Sustainability, where five other companies agreed to answer our questions on sustainability within the surface treatment sector.
On September 19th, we also attended the sales conference of HangOn in Sweden, where Alessia Venturi, editor-in-chief of ipcm®, gave a presentation entitled "The smart way to coating", presenting the industry trends and the role played by sector magazines. You will be able to read a more detailed account of the day on the next issue of ipcm®, out in November.
Last but not least, in September we also worked on the 2020 media guides, now available on our website. In addition to the editorial calendar for 2020 and an updated overview of all that we have achieved so far, with new data and reading keys, the new media guides reveal an important news: EOS is the new official agency for Europe of Fabtech Mexico, which brings together the most important metal manufacturers of Latin America and which has an area dedicated exclusively to surface treatments.
