The ESD (electrostatic discharge) powder coatings manufactured by IBA Kimya exhibit optimum static charge dissipation capability, reliably preventing the sudden discharge of static electricity, so that dangerous discharge processes such as sparking do not take place. Due to these properties, the cabling of galvanized shelves which otherwise is a common practice is not required. Furthermore, protective measures, such as installing special protective mats or storing the equipment in boxes, do not need to be taken. Therefore, static dissipative coating using the IBA Kimya ESD powder coating products is the simple and above all economical alternative to procedures such as cabling which otherwise is a common practice.
As another highlight, IBA Kimya will be displaying its In-Mould Powder Coatings (IMC). The innovative IM 90 Series powder coating has been specifically designed for in-mould coating. In-mould coating comprises the coating of plastic components directly in the mould, using negative moulds. Thus, subsequent coating of the components that is very expensive is not required. The products find their uses in the automotive industry, as components for trucks, agricultural equipment and in many other areas of industrial manufacture. The main advantages compared with wet paint are: no VOC, better adhesion, process steps can be eliminated. In-mould powder coatings combine easily with a variety of procedures for plastics processing such as injection moulding, moulding and pressing. IBA Kimya's IM Series can be adjusted to exhibit anti-bacterial properties or to be food safe. In addition, a conductive version and a fireproofing product are available.
