In-mould coating comprises the coating of plastic components directly in the mould, using negative moulds. Thus, subsequent coating of the components that is very expensive is not required. The products find their uses in the automotive industry, as components for trucks, agricultural equipment and in many other areas of industrial manufacture. The main advantages compared with wet paint are: no VOC, better adhesion, process steps can be eliminated. In-mould powder coatings combine easily with a variety of procedures for plastics processing such as injection moulding, moulding and pressing. IBA Kimya's IM Series can be adjusted to exhibit anti-bacterial properties or to be food safe. In addition, a conductive version and a fireproofing product are available.
