The next International Waterborne, High‐Solids, and Powder Coating Symposium will take place from 12th
to 17th February 2023 in New Orleans.
The International Waterborne, High‐Solids, and Powder Coating Symposium is celebrating its 50th anniversary
during the 2023 edition, that will take place from 12th to 17th
February at the Astor Crowne Plaza in New Orleans (U.S.A.).
The organisers of the multi‐faceted conference have planned several events for the next symposium, such as short courses held prior to the event, a technical conference including forty original presentations, a graduate student poster session with a lightning presentation round and a 3-day technical showcase exhibition.
The plenary lecturer will be Julian Santos from Oxiteno with “Sustainability Guiding New Developments in the Coating Industry”. Other highlighted speakers include Matthew Gadman from King Industries as the Sidney Lauren Memorial Lecturer and Michael Dvorchak from Dvorchak Enterprises presenting on “3D Printed Drag Reducing Riblets (Shark Skin bio-mimicking) that are 1K UV curable coatings utilizing Allophanate Structures”. Further sessions will include panels on waterborne, UV, high-solids, pigments, additives and powder coatings.
The funds received will be used for academic programme development, including graduate student stipends, junior faculty development, equipment acquisition and maintenance and scholarships for undergraduate students majoring in Polymer Science and Engineering, most of whom will then enter the coatings or related polymer industries.
