Univar Solutions has been recognised on the USA Today List of America's Climate Leaders for 2023 thanks to its carbon footprint reduction.
The international distributor of speciality chemicals and ingredients Univar Solutions has recently announced that it has been recognised on the USA TODAY list of America's Climate Leaders. This list is developed by the market research firm Statista and offers a data-driven recognition of companies that have reduced their carbon footprint in recent years.
“Receiving such recognition is a testament to our people as we relentlessly pursue our 2025 Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) goals, including further key emissions goals stretching to 2030 in support of a long-term commitment to achieve net-zero emissions by 2050. As a business built on our purpose, we are focused on making a positive difference to the world around us by helping to keep people safe, protecting the physical environment, strengthening social responsibility in the supply chain, and creating a business where our people can bring their whole, authentic selves to work,” has stated David Jukes, President and CEO of Univar Solutions.
The ranking started with a list of more than 2,000 US-based companies which showed an income of more than 50 million dollars in 2021. Then, 700 companies were selected based on the public reporting of emissions data – making a verifiable ranking possible.
“I am proud to see how our people have continued to demonstrate excellence in all we do and to see this recognized externally. We have continued to drive progress against our Global ESG goals, helping deliver environmental and social value through our business and value chain,” has commented Jen McIntyre, chief people & culture officer and executive ESG lead at Univar Solutions.
“I'm pleased to see our encouraging progress to date on climate action be recognised in this inaugural listing. Ambitious goals are important in this space but I am prouder on the actual emissions reductions our teams are driving across the business,” has concluded Liam McCarroll, global sustainability director for Univar Solutions.
