The start of the full-scale production of microspheres will allow Nouryon to consolidate the growing demands of the US market.
The international chemicals supplier Nouryon has announced that it has started the full-scale production of the Expancel® expandable microspheres at its new manufacturing facility in Green Bay (Wisconsin, United States of America). The new plant will indeed help the company to better serve the customers in North America, especially in the roof and automotive coatings, packaging and construction industries. In addition, it complements the existing factory in Sundsvall (Sweden) and the sites in China and Brazil.
The Expancel expandable microspheres are used as a lightweight filler and blowing agent to make the end products lighter, incorporate high-performing insulation properties and to better reflect the light – thus reducing energy consumption, cost and environmental impact. In addition, the customers can take advantage of Expancel expandable microspheres to enhance products in several applications where prevention of cracks and water absorption are essential to prolong the life of weather-exposed materials.
