Plascoatings has expanded its portfolio with an anti-slip, flame retardant and wear resistant coating additive.
The distributor of specialty raw materials for the paint and coatings industry Plascoatings ha announced the new Arpocore™ Aramid Powder coating additive. Sourced from the production of aramid yarns and fibers, it will expand the company’s portfolio with anti-slip, fire retardancy and wear resistance properties.
The product does not sag at the bottom of the mixture thanks to its composition and the weight of the particle, so it is possible to add or mix it both in the factory and on-site. Additionally, Arpocore will not come loose from the coating, as it sometimes happens with other minerals such as sand and corundum.
Plascoatings stated that its new additive is compatible with each type of coating composition. Moreover, it is also compatible with colours, pigments and resins. The wear resistance property of Arpocore extends the lifetime of the coating beyond that of other minerals and other additives.
A further advantage of the new product is that it is particularly suitable for flooring applications in the leisure industry, vessel and yacht decks, offshore platforms and tank roofs, since it does not absorb heat. It is also very light, allowing weight saving on mobile applications.
