The new support centre of PPG will allow to improve filling and packaging capabilities for aerospace materials, including coatings and sealants.
The international paints and coatings manufacturer PPG has recently announced the opening of a $17 million aerospace paint application support centre in Toulouse (France), that will allow the company to deliver products to aerospace customers in southern Europe and North Africa faster.
“PPG is a critical supplier to the aerospace industry, with a suite of technologically advanced products. This new facility will significantly enhance our responsiveness and customer support capabilities, while enabling the qualification of our unique materials earlier in the product development cycle,” has stated Francois Buehlmann, the general manager of the Aerospace division in the EMEA region of PPG.
The facility will provide filling and packaging capabilities for aerospace materials, including coatings and sealants for a wide range of aircraft, as well as technical support. It will feature a laboratory for the development of aerospace materials, a colour blending area for coatings and a spray booth for hands-on training of paint applications. Moreover, it will also include filling lines for touch-up kits, a transparencies inspection cell, customised packaging capabilities for third-party products, chemical management resources and a customer service centre.
“We are thrilled to provide convenient access to our aerospace products and services while further committing to our investment in France. This new facility enhances our global footprint and supports the industry as global travel continues to recover,” has added Dan Korte, the senior vice-president of the Aerospace business unit of PPG.
