Polina Ware will continue to develop the sustainable and safe packaging coatings solutions of PPG.
PPG has recently announced that the company has named Polina Ware as the new global technical director of its packaging coatings business, effective from 9th January 2023.
The new director will manage the research and development operations of the Packaging Coatings Innovation centres in Milford (Ohio, U.S.A.), Bodelshausen (Germany) and Zhangjiagang (China). Ware will work towards the continuous development of packaging coatings solutions
in order to protect both consumers and the environment and stay ahead of the evolving international food-contact materials regulations.
Ware achieved a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering and a master's and a doctorate in polymer science and engineering from the University of Massachusetts. She joined her current company from the specialty chemical manufacturer Rogers Corporation, where she served as global research and development director. In addition, she oversaw the international technical service and application development teams and a worldwide research and development centre.
“Polina's leadership in driving the growth of our sustainable solutions will be key to the continued success of our customers and our global packaging business. She will ensure that we remain the standard of excellence for global can coatings and strengthen our leadership position in non-bisphenol food contact coatings for consumer packaging,” has declared Amy Ericson, the senior-vice president of the Protective and Marine Coatings division of PPG, who currently also manages the Packaging Coatings business unit.
