At the new Customization Center of COMAC, the Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China, visitors will be able to discover AkzoNobel’s range of aerospace coatings.
COMAC, the Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China, has recently opened a new Customization Center, which aims at promoting COMAC’s ARJ21 regional airplane to both a local and global audience. It is also an opportunity to display its C919 short/medium-range narrow-body airplane, and its CR929 long-range wide-body airplane to other potential airline customers worldwide. Cockpit and cabin mock-ups are represented, enabling visitors to see and experience each of the airplanes in a single venue.
As well as the new airplanes, the Center is also intended as a way of promoting closer collaboration between the manufacturer and its supply chain partners, ‘laying the foundation for building a world-class aviation enterprise’. It provides the chance for aerospace industry suppliers – AkzoNobel Aerospace Coatings among them – to highlight and prove their own product and technology capabilities in an interactive way and promote the customized options available on every new airplane.
“Being part of the centre will enable us not only to showcase the exterior products within the AkzoNobel range, including the approved basecoat/clearcoat system, but also many of the new interior coating products now available to protect and enhance the airplanes COMAC is building”, said Jeffrey Li, Strategic Accounts Manager for AkzoNobel Aerospace Coatings. “It’s an exciting development. It is a tremendous platform to convince new customers that we have the right products for their needs."
