The new Research Hub will develop new solutions, technologies and processes for water treatment, functional paints and coatings.
The Australian Research Council (ARC) has recently celebrated the opening ceremony of the new Research Hub for Advanced Manufacturing with 2D Materials, which will be led by the Monash University. The Council is investing more than $4.3 million over five years in order to develop new solutions, technologies and processes for water treatment, batteries, functional paints and coatings.
The hub – that is currently engaging around twenty students, more than ten researchers and six research fellows – will reunite almost fifty academic professionals from local universities in addition to ten partner investigators. By using interdisciplinary approaches and strong collaboration between industry and academics, the Research Hub is expected to create new business opportunities, jobs and revenue streams with technologically advanced products
by leveraging new and unique applications.
“The ARC proudly supports research excellence that positively impacts everyday Australians. The Research Hub has created an environment for researchers and industry partners to work together to deliver transformative outcomes in advanced manufacturing, helping Australian business to generate greater economic output in this fast-growing market,” has stated Richard Johnson, the Chief Executive Officer of the Australian Research Council.
