Starting January 1st, Armand Ajdari will serve as the new chief technology officer of Arkema.
Starting from January 1st 2022, Armand Ajdari will be joining Arkema as the new Chief Technology Officer of the company, directly reporting to the Chairman and CEO, Thierry Le Hénaff. Ajdari will also be a member of the Group management committee.
The appointment is a further step in Arkema’s strategic direction towards innovation and development of sustainable solutions, as Ajdari has more than 30 years of experience in the research and development in international environments, particularly within the Saint-Gobain group acting as Senior Vice President R&D for the Innovative Materials sector. After a PhD in Theoretical Physics at the Pierre et Marie Curie University in Paris and an engineering diploma at the École Polytechnique (France), he undertook various multidisciplinary research activities within the CNRS (Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique). Since 2017, Ajdari has also been Executive Vice President R&D of the Saint-Gobain group.
Besides scientific and technological culture, the new Chief Technology Officer of Arkema will also provide important commercial relationships with key partners and understanding of the planet’s megatrends.
