The new substrate wetting agents of Ashland offer a balance of wetting and low foaming that leads to defect-free films in coatings for multiple end-markets.
Ashland has recently launched the new substrate wetting agent portfolio Easy-Wet™, which includes a new generation of silicone-free high-performing oligomeric alkyl polyether polyols additives for premium automotive and industrial coatings
for metal, plastics, woods and printing inks.
The substrate-wetting agents are essential for delivering defect-free films, especially in waterborne coatings – as they help to significantly reduce the surface tension of water and provide excellent wetting properties. The new sustainable Easy-Wet portfolio developed by the company offers a balance of wetting and low foaming that leads to defect-free films in coatings for multiple end-markets. Furthermore, the new products offer very low foam stabilisation, thus avoiding cratering or pinholes.
“The new Super Wetting Technology Platform of Ashland offers the coatings industry a high-performing and sustainable product line with limitless possibilities for various applications. When one of our Easy-Wet™ products is used in industrial coatings, the final film penetrates nicely, leading to perfect substrate wetting. This technology is a game-changing innovation for the whole industry,” has stated Chris Brown, the vice-president and general manager of Ashland.
