The acquisition of CPS Chemicals will enable Azelis to better serve customers in the South African paint and coatings market.
Azelis has recently signed an agreement to acquire 100% of the shares of the coatings and paints distributor CPS Chemicals, which is based in Durbanan (South-Africa). The acquisition expands the footprint of the company in the region, complementing its lateral value chain in the coatings, adhesives, sealants and elastomers (CASE) segment and allowing Azelis to better serve customers and accelerate the growth in South Africa and the broader region.
“The strategy of CPS Chemicals (Coatings) is perfectly aligned with the vision of Azelis ‘Innovation through formulation’, looking to engage with customers on a technical level by offering solutions via the laboratories and research and development programmes of its principals. CPS Chemicals (Coatings) will now be able to benefit from our global network of laboratories, as well as the technical and innovation experience and expertise of its teams,” has stated Boston Moonsamy, the managing director of Azelis in South-Africa.
Founded in 1993, CPS Chemicals (Coatings) is a distributor of specialty chemicals mainly serving the paints, coatings, inks and resins markets in South Africa.
