The partnership between BASF Coatings and Li Auto aims to drive innovation in coatings, with a strong focus on sustainability and digital advancements.
The global supplier of paints and coatings BASF Coatings, together with Li Auto - a Chinese new energy vehicle manufacturer - have signed a Memorandum of Strategic Cooperation. This partnership is dedicated to fostering and implementing innovative coatings that prioritise sustainability
and digital transformation.

Under the Memorandum, BASF Coatings and Li Auto will jointly explore new low-carbon emission material technologies and establish a collaborative innovation platform. This initiative aims to develop advanced materials and processes that enhance product performance while offering competitive coating solutions, including e-coat, basecoat, clearcoat, and more.
Moreover, digitalisation is another key focus of this collaboration. By strengthening their work in digital solutions, BASF Coatings and Li Auto seek to improve data sharing and system integration, enabling intelligent, automated business operations.
