The innovative VpCI®-649 HP Hydrotest Additive from Cortec can protect pipes for Up to 24 months.

The corrosion inhibitor supplier Cortec® Corporation successfully combats corrosion in modern building plumbing systems with VpCI®-649 HP, a hydrotest additive certified to meet the ANSI/NSF 61 standard for drinking water system components. When used as a surface treatment at concentrations up to 3% and then drained, it safely inhibits corrosion.

VpCI®-649 HP is added to the hydrotest water, where it diffuses throughout the pipes, preventing corrosion during pressure tests. It leaves a thin, corrosion-inhibiting film that can protect pipes for up to 24 months. The product safeguards various metals, including steel, galvanized steel, copper, and aluminium, without the use of harmful nitrites, phosphates, molybdenum, or chromates. Additionally, VpCI®-649 HP includes a PTSA tracer for easy concentration monitoring.

Therefore, by using VpCI®-649 HP, construction teams can avoid the delays and costs of extra cleaning to remove corrosion before a building becomes operational.
