The improved Vapor phase Corrosion Inhibition film technology of Cortec helps meet sustainability standards without compromising quality.
Cortec® Corporation has presented VpCI®-126 PCR, a new version of its proprietary Vapor phase Corrosion Inhibition film technology
specifically developed with a high amount of post-consumer recycled content
in order to ensure the efficient recovery, recycling and reuse of resources and provide continuous protection from salt, excessive moisture, condensation, aggressive industrial atmospheres and multi-metal corrosion.
As a matter of fact, VpCI-126 PCR will help to meet sustainability standards without compromising quality specifications related to mechanical and corrosion inhibiting properties, as it combines the latest eco-friendly film technology of the company with an effective corrosion protection for all ferrous and non-ferrous metal products.
The new packaging solutions developed by Cortec allows then to protect metal parts from all types of corrosion, including rust, stains, tarnish, white rust and oxidation for up to five years: the inhibitors of the film evaporate and then condense on metal surfaces inside the enclosed package, reaching every area and protecting both exteriors as well as hard-to-reach interior surfaces.
In addition to being conform to NACE Standard RP 0487-2000, Cortec VpCI-126 PCR is also heat-sealable and can be used with all types of manual or automated heat-seal packaging equipment. The material is available in a variety of standard and customised forms – bags, sheeting-reinforced film, top-seal, auto bags, gusseted liners, etc. – and with film gauges ranging from 50-250 microns (2 to 10 mils) and widths from 76 mm-9.7 m (3” to 32’).
