Evonik Strengthens Its Management Team in North America

Evonik has strengthened its local leadership in North America by adding top-level management expertise with Guido Skudlarek and Bonnie Tully.

Evonik has recently announced that it has strengthened its local leadership in North America by adding top-level management expertise with the appointment of Guido Skudlarek as president of the region, effective from 1st June 2024. Bonnie Tully, who has been managing the region since 2020, will then become Chief Operations Officer, focusing on the production sites and new business developments. The international manufacturer of specialty chemicals operates over thirty production sites in North America, which represent investments of half a billion dollars.

“North America has become a crucial growth region for Evonik. I am excited that Guido and Bonnie will contribute their unique skill sets to the next phase of our growth trajectory in the United States, Canada and Mexico,” has declared Maike Schuh, the Chief Financial Officer of Evonik as well as the management board member responsible for the Americas region.

The new management team of Evonik in North America

Guido Skudlarek has studied business administration and engineering in Germany and the United Kingdom and holds a doctorate from the University of Bayreuth (Germany).

He began his professional career in 2001 at the consulting firm McKinsey & Company, before joining Evonik in 2013.

Skudlarek was in charge of the specialty chemicals within the Silica business unit and advanced its overall growth strategy, such managing the antitrust review process for the acquisition of the division of J.M. Huber Corp. dedicated to silica.

More recently, he served as Head of Operations Excellence at the headquarters of the company in Essen (Germany), designing and implementing global transformation programmes in production and supply chain management.

“I am looking forward to working with the region’s excellent team to expand Evonik’s business in North America,” has declared Skudlarek.

Bonnie Tully

Bonnie Tully studied mechanical engineering at Texas A&M (United States of America). She possesses over thirty years of working experience and is also the executive sponsor of groW Americas, the Employee Resource Group for women of Evonik.

In the new role, she will oversee the expanding operations in a region that recorded €3.8 billion in revenue in fiscal 2023 (a quarter of the Group’s total).

“I am an engineer at heart, and I cannot wait to again dive into the operational details of our great company,” has commented Tully.
