BASF was recognised by General Motors as one of the best suppliers from 2023 for its performances and sustainable efforts.
The international paints and coatings manufacturer BASF has recently announced that it was named a top global supplier of 2023 by General Motors during the annual Supplier of the Year recognition event, held by the company in Miami (United States of America). The recognition marks the 17th time that BASF has been awarded in the 32-year history of the programme.
“General Motors has been a great strategic partner for us. Our customers are at the centre of everything that we do, so this award proves our alignment with General Motors and the strength of our many years of trust and collaboration. BASF ranks very highly when measured by the cultural priorities and business performances of General Motors. I want to thank them for this incredible honour and the BASF team for their hard work and passion,” has stated Uta Holzenkamp, the president of the Coatings division of BASF.
In total, eighty-six suppliers were awarded during the ceremony. The event celebrates global suppliers that distinguish themselves by exceeding standards and providing innovative technologies for the automotive industry. The winners had been previously rigorously selected by a cross-functional team from General Motors based on their performances, innovation, cultural alignment with the values of the company and their commitment to achieving ambitious goals. The Coatings division of BASF was then recognised for its anti-corrosion surface treatments, the brilliant topcoat colours and the shiny clearcoats.
“We are honoured to partner with these top suppliers, who have made notable contributions to our transformation. Together, we are pushing boundaries, pioneering new technologies and redefining what is possible. Their innovation and support are critical to helping us deliver the world-class vehicles our customers have to come expect,” has added Jeff Morrison, the vice-president for global purchasing and supply chain at General Motors.
