OCSiAl will increase the production of TUBALL™ nanotubes and nanotube-based products for coatings and composite materials.

The international manufacturer of graphene nanotubes technology OCSiAl has recently inaugurated its first European production facility, located in Serbia. Currently, over 1,500 businesses worldwide employ graphene nanotubes for the creation of coatings and composites for the automotive, electronics, construction, packaging and printing sectors.

The site will help the company to increase the production of TUBALL™ nanotubes and nanotube-based products, marking a significant step forward in integrating nanomaterials into various industries. The 10,000 m2 facility includes a graphene nanotube synthesis unit, production lines for nanotube-based products, a research centre and quality control laboratories. Moreover, since during the past five year the sales of nanotube concentrates have tripled, the hub includes a line delivering easy-to-apply nanotube concentrates with a capacity of up to 200 tonnes, which is enough to enhance up to 100 thousand tonnes of various polymers for conductive and enhanced composites and coatings.

“The strategic location in Serbia of the facility will enhance the supply of cutting-edge nanotube solutions across Europe, Asia and the United States of America. The site will produce sixty tonnes of graphene nanotubes per year, with plans to double production by launching a second synthesis unit within the next year,” has declared Konstantin Notman, the CEO of the OCSiAl Group.

The graphene nanotubes improve coating and composite sustainability by extending durability, boosting cost efficiency and reducing environmental impact – without requiring process changes or additional equipment. Ideal for industrial coatings and composites, nanotubes provide stable colour, durability and anti-static properties.

“TUBALL nanotubes are a game-changing material that enhances physical properties across up to 50% of global materials markets. Their unique characteristics and ability to fundamentally change materials, coupled with their potential impact on Net Zero initiatives, make them a critical component in transforming material technologies worldwide,” has added Peter Cuneo, the Chair of the Board of Directors of OCSiAl.
