PPG, through its New Paint for a New Start initiative, will renovate over 25 schools worldwide to create engaging and supportive learning environments thanks to its coatings.

The international paints and coatings manufacturer PPG has announced that its ‘New Paint for a New Start initiative’, part of the COLORFUL COMMUNITIES programme, will complete more than 25 colourful and transformative renovations of schools and educational spaces around the world by the end of August 2024.

Each project in the New Paint for a New Start initiative aims to create engaging spaces for student learning and growth, capitalising on the positive impact PPG coatings have on students and their learning environments.

“The impacts of a quality education hold significant value and can change the trajectory of a student’s life. Our employee volunteers recognize this as they step into schools and educational spaces to paint classrooms and brighten places where students can thrive. Each New Paint for a New Start project aims to create joyful spaces where students feel supported and enable possibilities and progress in the lives of young people,” has stated Malesia Dunn, the executive director pf PPG Foundation and corporate global social responsibility.

In addition, most of the transformation projects will use a global colour palette, including PPG's colour of the year 2024, Limitless. In addition to painting the spaces, PPG and the PPG Foundation are also funding several schools with science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) educational supplies.

“Color is a powerful communicator and can play a meaningful role in engaging students and connecting with learning objectives within a classroom. From Milan, Italy to Zhangjiagang, China and many places in between, PPG volunteers are expanding the transformative impacts of beautifying schools worldwide. In 2024, we’re excited to be joined by several PPG customers to deepen the reach of the initiative,” has added Steve Pocock, PPG Vice-President EMEA West and Central, Architectural Coatings.
