The British manufacturer of corrosion testing equipment Ascott has been acquired by Weiss Technik, a subsidiary of Schunk Group.
Ascott Analytical Equipment, a manufacturer of corrosion testing equipment based in Tamworth (UK), has announced on 16th
May 2022 that it had been acquired by Weiss Technik, a subsidiary of the German Schunk Group.
Ascott was established over thirty years ago and has become a prominent leader in the corrosion testing sector, with products covering several markets such as automotive and aerospace industry. Weiss Technik recognised the expertise and importance of the company and its further potential growth opportunities, so the Schunk Group finalised the acquisition.
“There is a natural synergy between Ascott and Weiss Technik and we’re very excited about the future. Going forward, with the combined resources and expertise that we now have; we will go from strength to strength,” stated Adrian Wain, the managing director of Ascott Analytical Equipment.
“Ascott is a very good fit for the Schunk Group. With this purchase, we are significantly expanding the market position of our subsidiary Weiss Technik in the field of corrosion testing,” commented Arno Roth, the CEO of The Schunk Group.
“Weiss Technik and Ascott together are number three in the global market for corrosion testing equipment, the two companies complement each other perfectly,” added Peter Manolopoulos, member of the Executive Board of The Schunk Group and responsible for Weiss Technik.
The manufacturing processes and the day-to-day operations of Ascott will however continue as planned.
