The fourth edition of the annual Christmas donation campaign was destined to help people with intellectual disabilities in the Lake Constance district.
J. Wagner GmbH has proudly announced that it has donated €30,000 as part its Christmas donation campaign for people with intellectual disabilities in the Lake Constance district: the employees of the company have collected money in form of cash, transfers, remaining vacation days and overtime that have been then topped up to a round sum by the management and provided to the Lebenshilfe Bodenseekreis e.V. association.
“Inclusion and participation cost money – a lot of money – but people with disabilities are entitled to this according to UN law and is not a voluntary service. In doing so, I deliberately focus on people with severe and multiple disabilities. If it suits this group of people, then it fits all the more for everyone else. A chain is only as strong as its weakest link,” has commented Norbert Kiwatsch, the 1st Chairman of the Board of Lebenshilfe Bodenseekreis. “Disability rights are human rights. Lebenshilfe takes a stand against discrimination and exclusion. Disability is the enrichment of human diversity. True to the motto ‘Nothing about us without us’, we give these people a voice and stand up for the cultural change from care to free self-determination.”
In the four years since the start of its annual fundraising campaign, the company has already collected around €215,000 that will benefit the region: the first donation went to Kinderstiftung Bodensee, the second was destined to five food bank associations, the third was aimed at four hospices and now to the Lebenshilfe Bodenseekreis.
“The voluntary work of Lebenshilfe Bodenseekreis shows how important solidarity and social cohesion are. Therefore, we are very pleased that we have been able to hand over a donation of 30,000 euros to Lebenshilfe Bodenseekreis – which was made possible in large part by the great commitment of our employees,” has stated Veronika Daue, the Chief People Officer of the Decorative Finishing & Central Functions division at J. Wagner GmbH. “Initiatives like this make a real difference, and we are proud to be able to make a difference together as a company. Thank you to everyone who contributed to this donation!”
