With a score of 55 points, Dürr was in the top 25% of all companies rated by EcoVadis and achieved another Silver medal thanks to improvements in the labor and human rights category.
Ecovadis, a leading analysis company for sustainability ratings, measures the performance of companies taking into account the performance of a company in the categories of environment, labor and human rights, ethics and sustainable procurement, giving companies a score from 0 to 100. Last year, Dürr further improved its sustainability rating according to EcoVadis from a score of 51 to 55 points. This means that also this year the German group has achieved the silver medal by EcoVadis. The increase in the EcoVadis rating is mainly due to improvements made in terms of health and safety and mobile work, human rights. Also the good results obtained by german Group in the employee survey, conducted in October 2019, were taken into consideration.
As Dürr AG is one of the global pioneers of sustainability-oriented financing, this valutiation is of utmost importance. Since mid-2019, the German group has obtained a sustainability-oriented Schuldschein loan of € 200 million and a syndicated loan of € 500 million. Interest rates are partly linked to EcoVadis rating. For this reason, if the score increases to at least 62 points, the interest rates are reduced, while a score lower than 40 points would lead to an increase of them. Dürr AG is the first company in the world to apply this mechanism to a Schuldschein loan.
"Sustainability plays a key role in our strategy. Our customers see us as a supplier of low consumption and low emission production technology. Our shareholders and employees also expect - and rightly so - that we are committed to taking responsibility for the environment, society and employee matters, "says Jochen Weyrauch, head of corporate sustainability on the board of directors of Dürr.
